Autumn Equinox & Winter Car Prep
Yesterday was the autumn equinox – that point in the year when day and night are perfectly balanced before the darker evenings start sneaking in. From now on, you’ll notice the nights drawing in faster, mornings getting chillier, and winter not too far away.
Get Your Car Winter-Ready
It’s the ideal time to give your car a once-over before the cold really sets in. Check your tyres have good tread for those damp Welsh roads, top up your screen wash with antifreeze mix (nothing worse than frozen jets on a frosty morning), and keep a blanket in the boot – handy for comfort and safety if you ever get stuck.
Here’s a little trick: keep a small bag of cat litter in the car. Sounds odd, but if you get stuck on ice, sprinkling some under the wheels can give you the grip to get moving again.
